Hibs - Hutchison Vale
Match Report - 2nd Sept 2006

Hibs under 15s got off to a great start in the league by beating their derby rivals Hutchison Vale 4-0.   Hibs opened their account through the prolific pre-season scorer Ellen Pia. The second goal was an intelligent volley from Anja McConnachie.  The third came from Gemma Robb who beat two players to cut in from the left and strike the ball with her right foot with great accuracy into the back of the net. The final goal was a well struck volley by captain Kirsten Weir.

It was a great all round team performance considering Hibs were missing two key players in Rebecca Macpherson and Chloe Jamieson. Unfortunately, Rebecca was unable to add to the fantastic volley she scored in last Wednesday's friendly against Dunfermline. Rebecca also finished as last years u13 top goal scorer. Chloe is Hibs exciting new signing but was unfortunate to miss out with a kidney infection.

Notable Hibs Girls players were Ciara Donaldson and Fern Quinn. Ciara is proving to be one of the best tacklers at the club and Fern's speed and great reading of the game is proving to be a great asset. Bryony Ross and Anja McConnachie are also developing a great partnership on the right wing. Moriah Jackson put in a great shift for the side yet again. Her workrate is impressive, as is speed and ability to turn defenders.

Hutchison Vale worked hard during the game and are a well organised team. For large parts of the game Hibs could not break down their defence.  The yellows did well to protect an inexperienced keeper, who had to put on the goalie gloves at the last minute as their first choice keeper failed to show.

In conclusion it was a well deserved victory as Hibs had the majority of possession and shots on goal.
